My phone blew up with messages of people offering me support. That's very kind of them and I appreciate it. Also, I'm saying I've been there, I'm good now. I'm inquiring of what you'd say to someone who's in it now.
I've been in the depths of despair with depression. A state where nothing matters. No one can say anything to convince you otherwise. For those of you who've also been there or who are there now, what advice would you give others about how to speak with people in this state?
A theme I see again and again in health: not too little and not too much.
Had a conversation with a friend today who confessed recently seriously considered taking their life. They have it all: wealth, power, and status. Yet feel empty and hollow. Struggling to find meaning. A note to you who feel the same: you're not alone. Things will get better.

Anxiety people feel about the future is good intuition. They just don't have words for it. The speed of reality is exceeding the speed of the observer. Humans experience this as biological trauma. Creating chronic hyper-vigilance, scanning a horizon that refuses to sit still.
