@BasedChrononaut However we technically and practically go about it, the challenge will be aligning ourselves around goals that most of us can agree upon. Everyone already plays DON'T DIE every minute of the day.
The drama round OpenAI is entertaining. It's also sobering and an invitation to build superior systems of societal power structures and goal reconciliation. We'll need to build bottom up. Top down will never arrive in time.
