Economic incentives to improve humans are lessening , quickly. Over a long enough time horizon, it’s possible we've designed the perfect system to make ourselves irrelevant as the compounded ROI on digital intelligence will make humans an increasingly an unworthy investment.
Digitization of you is the *single* highest value thing you own. Your most useful, precious, & highest returning asset as a human. It’s the key to everything future you: health, career, relationships, etc We’re giving it away for free. It’s a tragic mistake of epic proportions.
How much are you worth? Traditional answer: “net worth”, assets minus liabilities. What if your digital data was on your balance sheet? What if you owned/monetize everything about you and everything predictable about you? What's your net worth then?
New provocative documentary on #privacy & owning your digital self: "willingly trade privacy for connection & recognition we all deeply desire...lions and tigers were kings of the jungle, and then they ended up in zoos. I suspect we're on the same path"
@ehn Who owns your thoughts?
In 2009 #Zuckerberg acknowledged that the user OWNS the information they provide to Facebook. If the individual OWNS it, Facebook must pay the user for the rights to USE it, for any reason.
Most critical question for #Zuckerberg: Who owns a person’s digital data? Is it “ownerless” as FB assumes? Individuals own their digital data, it’s our Property like our homes, cars and clothes. We own it and should be able to control it. #ownyourdata
