@lizzadwoskin 100%. But that doesn't have to be the case. Our data is our property.
5/5 I started my to do list. What's yours?
4/5 We need to redesign our ambitions and economic incentives to incentivize *radical* human improvement. This is not downloading kung fu into our brains; it’s improving ourselves beyond what we can even imagine.
3/5 We need to make humans economically viable. We need to future proof ourselves. Your data is the *single most important and valuable asset you own* to do this.
2/5 The future of the human race can be forecasted through a single metric: return on investment (ROI) of intelligence. Our current economic incentives (engine that drives the world) are perfectly designed to put humans out of business and make us irrelevant as fast as possible
1/5 Thrilled to see @TheEconomist revive the critically important discussion of data ownership. The future of humanity depends on getting this conversation right.
Whether @facebook et al, are doing nefarious things with our data is relevant, but not the bullseye of the problem. The fundamental issue is the future of humanity: @facebook et al treat us as oil wells to be extracted from, not real estate to be improved @lizzadwoskin
Post our #DeleteFacebook public tantrum, convo died and FB market cap up $100B. Now conversation is back! This incredibly important issue is so much bigger than data misuse, privacy or being a data worker. @Axios Future from @stevelevine #ownyourdata
@areteopia Depending on what you care about doing with what you learn, increasing self awareness around your cognition can be extremely useful
